Dominic is the newest Partner of our firm and a dedicated solicitor within our Litigation team. Graduating from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws in 2017, Dominic has worked in the legal industry ever since.
Dominic joined Rees R & Sydney Jones in 2020, bringing with him valuable experience in criminal defence, as well as experience as an Associate to the Honourable Justice Graeme Crow of the Supreme Court of Queensland and former Supreme Court Justice, the Honourable Duncan McMeekin KC. These experiences helped shape Dominic’s strong passion for litigation and his commitment to advocating for his clients. Since joining the firm, Dominic has worked alongside Consultant Justin Houlihan, who brings more than 40 years of experience to the practice, and Solicitor Grace De Vere in our Litigation Department. After five years with the firm, Dominic became a Partner in February 2025.
With extensive experience across motor vehicle claims, workers compensation, estate litigation and criminal law, Dominic approaches complex legal issues with clarity, professionalism and a genuine understanding of the individual circumstances and objectives of each client. He is committed to providing considered advice and strong advocacy, both in and out of the courtroom.
When Dominic is not competing in the courtroom, you will find him embracing the relaxed Central Queensland lifestyle and giving back to the local community. He is a Director of the Rockhampton Leagues Club and also lectures at Central Queensland University, helping to prepare the next generation of lawyers for their careers.
