In welcome news for those acting as Executor of an Estate, the Government has initiated a free national service known as the Australian Death Notification Service.

This online service is designed to provide notice of a person’s death to multiple organisations in one place rather than having to notify them all individually. Many organisations are already on board with the service, with hopefully more to follow soon.

In order to use the service, you will require a Death Certificate to lodge a notification. The organisations you have selected to notify will then contact you with their requirements to deal with the deceased’s account.

Visit the Australian Death Notification Service website for more information.

Our experienced Wills and Estates team would be pleased to help you manage the estate of a loved one. Contact us today.
